A special scent for a special day close to my heart. Every year on Christmas Eve the whole family on my father's side gets together to enjoy a night of feasting, drinking and song. The night of merriment starts with the opłatek, or Christmas wafer, and wishes for a successful new year. After that, a prayer is said and everyone sits down to a feast of: pierogi, haddock, kasha, and macaroni and prunes. Everyone drinks punch and enjoys the plentiful spirits. After dinner gifts are exchanged. Everyone congregated around the dinning room table waiting to hear Grandpa and his harmonica. The caroling begins. The uncles and a few cousins set up shop in the next room and sing their hearts out while sneaking a few shots.
